Can I try out the app before buying or do you offer refunds?

The App Store does not let us offer you trials technically. Therefore we have produced instruction videos and a detailed user guide so you can learn exactly about the app's capabilities and limitations. You can also write us an email if you have questions. Also note that this app is sold as a one-time purchase, meaning that there are no recurring fees. If you purchased the app and you realize that it does not work for your business, then you can request a refund through the App Store. Apple now offers a 14-day no-questions-asked return policy in the EU. Learn more about refunds.

Is the app good for my business?

This depends on the size and type of business that you run. We've found that the typical Bobclass users are independent instructors or small business owners that want to manage their agenda, payments and client progress from one app on their iPad/iPhone. If you are a studio owner with a team, then Bobclass Studio is the best choice, which lets you schedule and manage multiple instructors. Regardless of the version that you buy, you will get Bobclass Cloud for free which allows you to access your data from multiple devices, either by you or your team members. If you are a large multi-store outfit with tens of thousands of clients, then Bobclass may not be for you. For this type of business, there are plenty of web & subscription based alternatives around that run on regular computers.

What are the technical requirements to run Bobclass?

Bobclass runs on iPad, iPhone and iPod devices with iOS8 (or higher). An internet connection is not needed to work with Bobclass. If you are using Bobclass Cloud, then synchronization between devices takes place whenever your device is connected to the internet again.

Is there an Android version of Bobclass?

No. At this moment Bobclass is only available for iOS. We are working on an Android version. If you want to stay informed, then you should sign up for the newsletter.

Is my data safe? What if I lose my device?

Your data is safe, providing that you are using Bobclass Cloud which creates an automatic backup of all your data every time you close the app. Note that you need to have a Bobclass Cloud account and be logged in to Bobclass Cloud to enable this backup mechanism. You can do this in the app's Settings > Bobclass Cloud.

Do I have to buy separate versions for my iPad and iPhone?

No, Bobclass is a so-called universal app which means if you buy it for one device, you can also install it on other devices using the same App Store account.

Calendar

Can I create multiple sessions in one time slot?

Bobclass Studio allows creation of multiple session in one time slot. Bobclass Solo - which is the base application - does not allow more than one event per time slot. Note that Bobclass Studio is sold as an optional subscription with a monthly recurring fee of 24,99 EUR (price may vary depending on your location).

Can students book themselves?

No, Bobclass does not offer self-service booking. The philosphy behind this app is that instructors manage their own calendar.

Can I duplicate or book repeat sessions?

Yes, you can. With the copy feature you can take an existing session and copy/duplicate it to slots in the future, even when these are not on the same day or hour. You can even copy the participants along.

Can I view external calendar such as Google Calendar or iCal in my Bobclass Calendar?

Yes, the app lets you import and view your iPad/iPhone's calendar. In the app go to settings > Import Calendar and enable the switch. The list of calendars, events, birthdays etc. that you see here is the same as what you have defined in your iOS calendar. If a calendar is missing, go to the iOS settings > Calendar > Accounts and add them there. They will then also appear in Bobclass.

I do not get to see the same external calendar when I enable the import option on my iPhone and iPad.

This is probably because your iOS calendar was configured differently on both devices. Bobclass simply reads data from your local iOS calendar. Check iOS settings > Calendar > Accounts to pick the calendar accounts.

I am using Bobclass Cloud with other people in my team. Can they see my private/external calendars?

No, your private/external calendar is only shown on your device, so every team member can see their own private calendar. The Bobclass client appointment calendar though is shared with the entire team.

Contacts

My clients' contact details sit in an Excel spreadsheet. How do I get them into Bobclass?

This is conceptually simple but it takes a few steps. The first step is to prepare your Excel sheet. The second step is to import it into a Google acount. The third step is to tell Bobclass to sync with Google Contacts. The fourth step is to import the contacts. You can find detailed instructions in this blog post.

Does Bobclass synchronize with the contacts I have on my phone and computer?

Yes. You can tell Bobclass to sync directly with your iOS or Google Mail Contacts. If your phone is synchronized with one of these then your contacts will always be up to date. If you use Outlook/Live/Hotmail, Yahoo or any other cloud service, you should synchronize them with your device's contacts first. Pricing

How much does Bobclass cost?

The app is sold for 16,99 EUR / ($14.99 USD, price may vary depending on your location) in the Apple App Store. This is a one-time payment. There are no monthly subscription fees for this version. The base app is intended for single instructor usage.

An optional upgrade (Bobclass Pro) adds check-out, drop-in, attendance tracking and advanced products such as punchpasses and memberships. Bobclass Pro is sold as an in-app subscription for 9,99 EUR ($9,49 USD) / month.

For multiple instructors usage, an in-app subscription called Bobclass Studio is offered for 24,99 EUR ($22.49 USD) / month. It includes all of Bobclass Pro and adds multiple calendars, parallel scheduling and roster sharing.

Whichever version you choose, you will get Bobclass Cloud with it for free. Bobclass Cloud is the sync and backup service that makes sure your data is safe, synced and accessible from your all your mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod).

Booking Confirmation Emails

How do I define the email account from which the automatically generated confirmation emails are sent?

Bobclass uses the default email account of your device. To change this, go to your device's settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. First make sure that you have at least one email account configured in Accounts. Then scroll down and find the Default Account setting where you select the account that Bobclass will use to send out emails.

When will my clients be reminded of an upcoming booking?

There are different ways in which the app reminds your clients:
  • Booking: as soon as you create a booking in the calendar, the app will send out an email to the participant(s), providing their profile contains an email address. Before sending it out, you will get to see an email preview where you can validate its content.
  • Rescheduling: after having changed a booking, an email describing the changes will be sent out to the affected participant(s).
  • Cancellation: after having cancelled a booking, an email describing the cancellation will be sent out to the affected participant(s).
  • Reminder (group): you can select an upcoming booking and send out a reminder to all participants in the session.
  • Reminder (individual): you can send an individual reminder by going to the Bookings tab in the client's profile, tap the Select button and select the bookings for which you want to send the reminder. Then tap the arrow-out icon and select Send Reminder.

Payment Tracking

How does the payment tracking work?

First, you will need to define products and prices. For example "1 hour session" for 50 EUR or "monthly fee" for 500 EUR. Second, you should define payment methods, for example cash or credit card. Once this is set up, you can start receiving payments per customer. When a customer pays you, you pick the product (price is automatically shown but can be overruled), date and payment method and it will be added to the customer's list of all received payments.

If I receive a payment from a client for a 10 session pack, each time I book a session against this, will it deduct and automatically show when payment is due for the next one?

Yes, but not in the base app. This functionality is offered with Bobclass Pro, which is sold as an in-app purchase.

How do I change the payment currency?

The app follows the currency of your device. To change the currency, go to iOS settings: General > Language & Settings > Region, and pick your country. Restart Bobclass and it will use the currency for your country.

Bobclass Cloud

What is Bobclass Cloud?

This is our free cloud service that lets you synchronize your data between different devices. So when you make a chance in - for example - a calendar appointment in Bobclass on your iPhone, it will also update the appointment in Bobclass on your iPad. The same goes for your client data and everything else. It also serves as a backup mechanism, so if something happened to your device you would still have a copy of your data in Bobclass Cloud.

How do I set up Bobclass Cloud?

First you need to create an account for Bobclass Cloud. In the app go to settings > Bobclass Cloud and start the account creation from there. Once that is done, you can log in using your user id and password. IMPORTANT: If you use more than one device, make sure that you first log in with the device that contains the latest data which is then uploaded to Bobclass Cloud. Once that is done you can log in from your other devices (which then download the data from Bobclass Cloud)

When I use Bobclass Cloud, does that mean that I lose the possibility to use the app offline?

No. You can keep using the app offline at any time because every device will have the full database stored locally, which is an exact copy of the database in Bobclass Cloud.

Can I share the same Bobclass Cloud account with other people in my team?

Yes. This way everybody can access the same data and changes made on one device will be synchronized to the other devices.

Will Bobclass Cloud remain free or are there any conditions that I should know of?

Bobclass Cloud will remain free for our users. We want you and your team members to use our app every day and we believe this will help. There are no conditions that you should know of.

I want to use Bobclass Cloud to share the calendar and client information. How does that work?

Just create one Bobclass Cloud account and share the user name (email address) and password with your team members. They then log in from their devices to that Bobclass Cloud account which downloads the entire database to their devices. From that moment on everything will remain in sync.

I am sharing calendar and client data with my team using Bobclass Cloud. Is there a way to protect certain areas in the app?

No. At this point all calendar and client data in the database is accessible by everybody who is logged in to your Bobclass Cloud account.

Professional Subscriptions (Pro & Studio)

What is Bobclass Pro and Bobclass Studio?

Both are in-app purchases that add functionality to the base product. Pro is intended for solo professionals, Studio for studio owners with a team. Both Pro and Studio are sold as an auto-renewable subscription that can be purchased from within the app's settings. Read more about the individual products in the sections below.

Bobclass Pro

What is Bobclass Pro?

Bobclass Pro is an optional upgrade from Bobclass Solo that offers attendance tracking, multi-class passes with auto-deducting, subscriptions (memberships) and drop-in classes. Bobclass Solo (which is the base app that is sold in the App Store) is required to be able to upgrade to Bobclass Pro. Bobclass Pro is sold as an auto-renewable in-app purchase.

What does Bobclass Pro offer?

  • Mark attendance as attended, early cancel or no-show. In the first and last case, the client will be charged. You can mark attendance for individuals but also for entire groups at once.
  • Automatic unit deduction on multi-class passes. Comparable to a punchpass, after checkout the system will deduct a unit from the client's pass every time they attend a class.
  • In addition, you can also use time-based subscriptions against a class. For example a client purchased a 1 month unlimited pass which can be used against your services until the pass expires.
  • For both kind of passes, you can see who is up for renewal indicated by red icons in the client list view.
  • Mass checkout for large groups where you do not want to mark each client individually. You can always override individual exceptions.
  • Drop-in mode that lets you add clients to a class as they trickle in. It sets their attendance automatically and lets you pick the client's product or sell a new product in the same step.
  • Processed/completed classes are shown in the calendar in gray and are also shown in a list view in the Appointment Manager, so you can verify in one glimpse whether you're up to date.
  • Overview of total sales per client and for all clients, with filters for time ranges.
  • Bobclass Pro adds professional end-to-end class reconciliation with product sales, payments against those and matching of products with attended classes. It is obtained as an in-app subscription for a monthly recurring fee of 9,99 EUR (price may vary depending on your location), which you can cancel at any time before the end of the month.

What is the difference between Bobclass Solo, Pro and Studio?

Bobclass Solo is the base app that is sold in the App Store as a one-time purchase. It works with one instructor and one appointment per time slot. Bobclass Solo is a fully functional app and is the foundation for all other upgrades. Bobclass Pro adds advanced attendance tracking, sales, payment, drop-in and checkout functionality including punchpasses and client subscriptions. For whom is Bobclass Pro intended?

Bobclass Pro is intended for single-(wo)man businesses, who are already doing their scheduling and client management in Bobclass (Solo) and now want to add attendance and product sales administration to the app. You probably have been doing this with spreadsheets, notes or pen & paper so far. With Bobclass Pro you will not need to keep sales, payments, attendance and package consumption separate anymore.

Can I buy Bobclass Pro without buying Bobclass Solo?

No. Bobclass Pro is an optional service that requires Bobclass Solo. You first need to buy Bobclass Solo and then buy a subscription to Bobclass Pro from within the app.

Does Bobclass Pro offer a payment gateway?

No. The app offers registration of products sold and payments received but not the actual transaction of the sale.

What is Bobclass Studio?

Bobclass Studio is an optional upgrade from Bobclass Solo that offers functionality for scheduling muliple instructors, instead of just one. It lets you manage multiple calendars at a time and schedule sessions in parallel. Rosters can be printed or sent by email to the instructors. Bobclass Solo (which is the base app that is sold in the App Store) is required to be able to upgrade to Bobclass Studio. Bobclass Studio is sold as an auto-renewable in-app purchase.

What does Bobclass Studio offer?

  • Create your team of instructors: Name, phone number, email address, notes.
  • Define availability per instructor: Days of the week and time range (from - to).
  • Assign an instructor to a class. An automated email confirmation is sent to the instructor.
  • Search availability for one or all instructors.
  • Transfer one or a set of classes from one instructor to another. Both instructors receive an automated confirmation email informing them of the change.
  • View a combined calendar or filter for one instructor only.
  • Schedule parallel classes in one time slot. Bobclass always checks whether the instructor or the client was not booked already.
  • Get overviews of past and upcoming bookings per instructor. The data can even be filter down further, for example to only show bookings for "instructor X at location Y".
  • Export booking data to .csv so it can be used in external spreadsheet or accounting software.
  • Print or email rosters to your team members so they know exactly what is expected. You can choose which information to leave out, for example payment data.

Will my staff have access to my client data?

There are no password protected areas, which means anyone who can access Bobclass, can view your client details. If you are the only person using Bobclass, then your client list is for your eyes only - providing your device is password protected. When sharing rosters with your team members, you can select which client data you want to display, so you can choose to hide e.g. payment data.

How do I purchase Bobclass Studio?
